Start to finish, sealing a tooth takes about ten minutes and involves nothing your child will find unpleasant.
Step 1: Clean the Tooth
We polish the chewing surface to clear away plaque and food debris. A sealant bonds properly only to a genuinely clean tooth, so we do not rush this part.
Step 2: Prepare and Dry
A mild conditioning gel goes on for a few seconds, then gets rinsed away. We keep the tooth dry with cotton and a small suction straw — your child just has to hold still and breathe normally.
Step 3: Paint on the Sealant
The liquid sealant flows into every groove. It goes on like nail polish and your child will not feel it at all.
Step 4: Cure and Check the Bite
A blue curing light hardens the sealant in seconds. We have your child bite down, make any small adjustment needed, and that tooth is protected.
