Why a pediatric specialist
Why See a Pediatric Specialist in an Emergency
Children's dental injuries call for a different approach than adult emergencies.
- Kids' anatomy is different. We protect baby teeth and the developing permanent teeth beneath them.
- Calm under pressure. Behavior-guidance techniques ease a frightened child and prevent lasting dental fear.
- The right tools. Low-radiation digital X-rays and tooth-colored materials to restore a damaged tooth.

Parent questions
Quick Actions for Unexpected Dental Trauma
Our emergency protocols align tightly with the critical care guidelines outlined by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry to guarantee your family receives top-tier safety standards. If your child encounters a sudden injury, staying calm and taking the correct immediate steps can drastically improve clinical outcomes. Review our emergency reference guide below to know exactly how to react:
Pick it up by the crown (not the root), rinse gently without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket. If you can't, store it in milk and see a dentist immediately—ideally within 30–60 minutes.
When It's a Medical Emergency
Some injuries go beyond the dentist. Call 911 or head to the ER for uncontrolled bleeding, a suspected broken jaw, a head injury, or swelling that affects breathing or swallowing. Our emergency approach follows AAPD trauma guidance.
